TiviMate Setup Guide: Add Your IPTV Service in 5 Minutes
Step-by-step TiviMate setup for Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV: install the app, add your Aero IPTV playlist with Xtream Codes, load the TV guide and more.
4 min read
TiviMate is a favorite IPTV player for big-screen viewing thanks to its cable-style TV guide. This TiviMate setup guide shows you how to install the app, add your Aero IPTV subscription and get the guide looking right — in about five minutes on an Android TV, Google TV or compatible Fire TV device.
What You Need Before TiviMate Setup
- An Android TV or Google TV device with the Google Play Store.
- Your Aero IPTV server address, username and password from your setup message.
- A stable connection — ideally Ethernet, or strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Optional: a USB keyboard or the TV's remote app on your phone to make typing faster.
Which Devices Support TiviMate?
TiviMate is designed for Android TV and Google TV: TVs from Sony, TCL and Hisense (Google TV models), streaming boxes like the onn. Google TV box and NVIDIA Shield, and many others. It is not available for iPhone, Apple TV, Samsung or LG TVs.
On Fire TV, TiviMate isn't in the Amazon Appstore, so it can only be installed on older Fire OS models that allow sideloading. Newer Fire TV Sticks that run Vega OS can't install it at all — see our guide to the Downloader app on Fire TV to check your model.
Step 1: Install TiviMate
- On your Android TV or Google TV, open the Google Play Store (on Google TV, use Search).
- Search for TiviMate IPTV Player and select Install.
- Open the app once it finishes installing.
Step 2: Add Your Aero IPTV Playlist
- Select Add playlist.
- Choose Xtream Codes login — it's the most reliable option. (Choose M3U playlist only if you were given an M3U link.)
- Enter the server address exactly as it appears in your Aero IPTV setup message, including
http://and the port. - Enter your username and password, then select Next.
- TiviMate shows how many channels, movies and series it found. Give the playlist a name, such as "Aero IPTV", and select Done.
Step 3: Get the TiviMate TV Guide Working
With Xtream Codes, the TV guide (EPG) usually loads automatically. Give it a few minutes on first use. If some channels show no program information, go to Settings → EPG and select Update EPG. Still blank? Read our dedicated fix: TiviMate EPG not showing.
Step 4: Personalize TiviMate
- Favorites: long-press OK on a channel and choose Add to favorites.
- Hide groups you never watch: Settings → Playlists → Manage groups.
- Start on Live TV: in Settings → General, choose to open the last channel at startup for a cable-box feel.
TiviMate Settings: Quick Reference
TiviMate doesn't come with a printed manual, so here's the short version. Open Settings from the main menu; menu names can vary slightly between TiviMate versions.
| Settings section | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Playlists | Add, edit or remove your IPTV login, and hide or reorder channel groups |
| EPG | Update the TV guide and manage guide sources (EPG not showing?) |
| General | What TiviMate opens at startup, such as the last channel you watched |
| Playback | Buffer size and video player options — change these if channels stutter or start slowly |
| Appearance | Theme, channel list and TV guide layout |
| Parental control | Set a PIN and lock channel groups |
Is TiviMate Premium Worth It?
TiviMate is free to install, but many of its best features — favorites management, recording, catch-up and multiple playlists — require TiviMate Premium, a paid upgrade sold by the app's developer through the TiviMate Companion app. It's a separate purchase from your Aero IPTV plan. Try the free version first and upgrade only if you want those extras.
TiviMate Setup Problems and Fixes
- "Playlist is empty": re-check the server address, username and password — one wrong character is enough.
- Channels won't play: you may have reached your connection limit. See max connections reached.
- Buffering: connect by Ethernet if possible, and read our buffering fixes.
That's the whole TiviMate setup. For other devices, see our Android TV setup guide or compare IPTV player apps for Fire TV and Android TV.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is TiviMate free?
TiviMate is free to install and use with basic features. TiviMate Premium is a paid upgrade from the app developer that unlocks extras like recording and advanced favorites.
Can I install TiviMate on a Firestick?
Only on older Fire TV models that allow sideloading, because TiviMate isn't in the Amazon Appstore. Fire TV Sticks running Vega OS can't install it.
Does TiviMate work on iPhone or Samsung TV?
No. TiviMate is only available for Android TV and Google TV devices. On iPhone, Apple TV or Samsung TVs, use a different player app.
Is there a TiviMate manual?
TiviMate doesn't include a printed manual. Its settings are grouped into Playlists, EPG, General, Playback, Appearance and Parental control — this guide has a quick reference table.
Should I use Xtream Codes or M3U in TiviMate?
Use Xtream Codes if you have a username, password and server address. It loads channels and the TV guide more reliably than an M3U link.
